Your Yearbook Donations Helped Make This Possible!
| In August of 2022, The Springfield City Library asked the community for Springfield high school yearbook donations, to build a community-based collection for all those asking us for them (it was a popular request!). We said we'd have those yearbooks digitized online at the Internet Archive via Digital Commonwealth for anyone to access for free - and now they're here! We have collected hundreds of yearbooks, now ready to be shared with the community. |

THE WHY |
There are many reasons to donate your yearbooks to this project. We love to hear why you've chosen to share, either, your yearbook or the yearbook of a loved one with us. Below are some of the personal reasons a few people choose to contribute. |
Deborah Smith
of Springfield, MA | As someone who has done a lot of genealogy research over the years, I know how helpful, and interesting, high school yearbooks can be. I was most pleased to donate two books from the 1940's that belonged to my late husband's aunts, and hope they prove useful to someone." |
Candyce Carlon
of Rochester, NH who sent in her mother's yearbooks by mail My mom loved her time at Technical High School, and she would be thrilled to know that the yearbooks she treasured could contribute to your project.” |
Robert Sarnacki
of West Springfield, MA who donated his brother's 1963 Tech Tiger yearbook |
I was happy to hear I could donate the yearbook, rather than it ending up chopped up somewhere. I always figured someone somewhere could get some use out of it. I would be a terrible waste not to do what the library is doing.” |

International Requests!
A man in France looking for his mother's 1931 High School of Commerce graduation photo (that we found)
Seeing my mother's image, as well as her many school activities, brought tears to my eyes.” |

THERE'S MORE TO BE DONE
| Our collection of yearbooks is growing but there are still some holes in our collection and schools we still haven't received any yearbooks for! If you've got yearbooks from any Springfield high school (public, private, or charter) from any year and you want to donate them to be a part of this collection, let us know! We'd love them! And don't forget, you'll always be welcome to visit them at the library or see and share them online. |
