What Do You Love About Your Library?
Here in Springfield, we LOVE our Libraries. Springfield Libraries play a vital role in ensuring all residents have equal access to information. Libraries are meeting places, community centers, and resources for everyone.

In recognition of Valentine's Day, residents from across the Commonwealth are coming together to show libraries some love.

You can go to www.lovemasslibraries.com and upload Valentine videos and photo Valentines. It can be sorted by library. Valentines will also be shared with legislators to help raise awareness about the importance of funding libraries!

Pick up paper valentines at any Springfield City Library location in February to participate in the Love Letters For The Library challenge, or download directly from the site!

You Still Have Time! Winter Reading Challenge Ends February 18
Winter Reading Challenge
January 3 – February 18

Cozy up with some good books this winter and meet the challenge! Read for just 20 minutes a day to earn a reading badge. Earn 30 badges between January 3 and February 18, and get a reward! For all ages.

This fun challenge is offered online only using Beanstack - visit springfieldlibrary.beanstack.org to log your reads online. Ask a librarian for help!
Book Lists and Recommendations
Librarians have created curated topic lists that you can click through to place a hold directly in the catalog! See previous lists here!

Time Management - February is Time Management Month - maybe because it's the shortest month of the year?
Chili Month - All things chili - cozy chili-themed mysteries, a history of chili peppers, and even a few cookbooks!
Bird Watching - Identify the birds, and keep track of the ones you've seen! Take a walk outside, or just observe the birds in your yard.
Time Loop Stories for Groundhog Day - If you like books and movies about second chances, you'll really like these time loop tales!

Reminder - Masks Required, Limited Hours and Services
In order to limit the spread of cases of COVID-19, the library currently has limited hours, suspended in-person programming, no public computer access, and requires masks for all staff and visitors, until further notice.  Check for updates here.
