Springfield City Library is one of more than sixty Massachusetts public libraries that have partnered to offer an online 50+ Job Seekers Networking Group series to support older adults looking for a new job, a new career direction, or a “Second Act” career. Anyone age 50 or older can take advantage of these free biweekly skill-building and networking group meetings. The series runs from January through June of 2023, and a new topic will be covered at each meeting. Attendance at every session isn’t necessary – but it’s strongly recommended! Job seekers can join the series at any time. CODE BUILDERS- POWERED BY GIRLS WHO CODE East Forest Park BranchClub Sessions Wednesdays: Jan 18, 25, Feb 1, 8 | 3:30-5:00 PM | Ages 13-18 Come learn to code and change the world! We are partnering with Girls Who Code to offer a Coding Club where you can explore different programming languages and platforms, along with the potential they have for making a positive impact on your community. You will build the skills you need to create animations, games, apps, and more using GWC’s fun online tutorials and the support of the other club members! Space is limited, registration is required.

Are you intrigued by learning more about others’ stories and experiences – whether in the present or the past? If so, then meet us at the Raymond Jordan Senior Center for our monthly Book Club, where we delve into the heart of historical fiction, non-fiction, and even memoir. We will bring each month’s book in large and regular print to each book club meeting. These classes are great for beginners. These are hands-on, relaxed courses that will help you get comfortable with computers, even if you’ve never used one before. By the end of one of our courses, you will be ready to explore on your own. Registration is required to participate, but you do not have to attend all of the classes – feel free to try the first before thinking about the rest. If you have any questions, you can call your local library to talk to a reference librarian. We can help you register for one of our classes or figure out where to start! CRAFTING WITH DELPHINE: JEWELRY MAKING! Join us for crafts with the incredible Delphine Williams! Delphine will share all of her knowledge, talents, and expertise during each monthly session. Come craft with us! This month features a Jewelry making workshop – but space and supplies are limited, and registration is required.
