A Night of Poetry with Springfield's Poet Laureate
Join us at the Brightwood Branch Library for a night of poetry with Magdalena Gomez, Springfield's Poet Laureate. Gomez will be reading from her new book of lyrical narratives.

FATHER'S DAY CARDS
Saturday, June 4  - Saturday, June 18 | Open Hours | All Ages
Drop by to make a card for dear ol' Dad. Supplies and templates will be provided so that you can craft a card that will put a smile on the face of Dad, Pop, Grandpa and Uncle Joe. Show someone how special they are with a personalized card made by you! All supplies provided.

BUTTERFLIES IN THE LIBRARY
East Springfield Branch
June 1-30 | Open Hours | Ages 5-10
During the month of June, the East Springfield Branch Library will be growing and raising our very own Painted Lady Butterflies. Every time you visit the library you can watch the larvae grow and change into beautiful butterflies. When the time is right, we will release the butterflies in our garden with your help.
BAD ART NIGHT
Central Library
Wednesday, June 29 | 5:00-6:00 PM | Children & Teens
Head to the children's room at Central Library to make the weirdest and worst art you've ever seen! Geared for ages 5+.

PAINT & SIP FOR TEENS

Tuesday, June 7 | 2:00-3:30 PM | Ages 13-19 | Register
Enjoy an afternoon of refreshment and create a masterpiece. We'll have all the supplies you need to create a painting. We'll also supply a selection of beverages so you can mix a refreshing juice or soda drink to sip as you paint.
TIE-DYE YOUR PRIDE!
Brightwood Branch
Friday, June 10 | 2:30-3:30 PM | Ages 10-16 | Register
Celebrate Pride Month and the pride you feel by tie-dying pillow cases a rainbow of colors! Stop by the Brightwood Branch Library to tie-dye a pillow case to take home. Pre-registration is required as supplies are limited.
 
JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION
Mason Square Branch
Wednesday, June 15 | 3:00-4:30 PM | All Ages
Join us in the Mason Square Reading Garden for outdoor games, crafts and activities to celebrate Juneteenth! Sign up for this year’s Discover Your Summer Reading Program.

FATHER'S BOHEMIAN NIGHT

Thursday, June 16 | 6:30-7:30 PM | Adults & Families
Come join us at the library for an evening of guitar music with Edwin Velez, "El Ultimo Bohemio" in celebration of Father's Day. Refreshments will be provided.
DISCOVER DUNGEONS & DRAGONS
Central Library - Rice Hall Mezzanine
Saturdays: June 11, July 9, August 6, September 3, October 1, November 12 | 9:30-11:30 AM | Ages 18+
Curious about Dungeons & Dragons but don't know how to get started? Meet us on the mezzanine in Rice Hall for a beginner-friendly adventure every month. No equipment, commitment, or experience is required. If you only stop by a couple times or want to play every month, the real treasure will be the friends we make along the way!

Author Leslea Newman on LGBTQ+ Family Life in America
Sixteen Acres Branch
Saturday, June 25 | 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Please join us during LGBTQ Pride Month, to hear from the author of one of the most controversial books ever published, Heather Has Two Mommies. The author will also discuss the rights of gay and lesbian families and delve into the history of the marriage equality movement.  Teens welcome.
