CELEBRATING 75 YEARS OF SUMMER READING

The Whittier Public Library celebrates 75 years of its summer reading club, which began in 1949 with the thrilling Gold Rush Reading Club. This year’s theme, "Adventure Begins in Your Library," continues the tradition of exciting quests. From its Gold Rush origins, the club has inspired countless treasure hunts, discoveries, and unforgettable memories.

Small Space Gardening for Children

July 24 at 3:30 p.m.


Join us for Storytime and Small Space Gardening!


Kids ages 6-12 are invited to an exciting event at Central Library featuring the book *In Our Garden* by Pat Zietlow Miller. Children will enjoy a fun storytime session, receive gardening supplies to grow their own plants, and get a special calendar with Daily Action Items to learn about plant life and environmental responsibility.


Small Space Gardening for Adults

July 24 at 5:30 p.m.

 

Join us for Small Space Gardening for Adults!


Adults are invited to an enriching event at Central Library to learn about the benefits of gardening as an empowering tool for healing, bonding, and community building. Participants will receive gardening supplies and a special calendar with Daily Action Items to start their own projects and gain valuable insights into creating green spaces.
