Hi everyone,
My name is Andrew Whitfield and I am truly honored to join this incredible community as the new Chief Librarian for Muskoka Lakes Public Library. I’d like to wish Cathy Duck all the health and happiness as she begins her retirement and thank her for helping to create and foster such an amazing culture here.
With over a decade of experience in the public library world I bring a deep-seated passion for knowledge sharing, equity, and community engagement to this position. I value the role libraries play in a community and look to only strengthen that role in the Township of Muskoka Lakes.
I am thrilled to begin working with such a committed board, exceptional staff, and every one of you reading this. Together, we'll continue to ensure the library evolves with the needs of the community, and engages and enriches patrons’ lives.
I encourage all of you to visit the Port Carling and Bala branches frequently! Peruse through our vast collection, attend our amazing programs, and engage with everything we offer...or just stop by to say hello, checkout or read a book. No pressure!
Questions, thoughts, and feedback about services are most welcome. Feel free to send an e-mail to awhitfield@pclib.ca if you’d like to chat or feel free to drop by, say hello, and share your ideas. Together, let's continue to make our library a community hub of engagement, knowledge, advancement, and enjoyment.
Warm regards, Andrew Whitfield |

Coming To FindYou by Jane Corry A heart-stopping psychological thriller about a woman running from the aftermath of a gruesome family tragedy - and also from the truth about her part in it. Nancy’s mother and stepfather have been brutally killed, and after a trial that gripped the nation, her stepbrother has been convicted of the double murders. But the end of the trial is just the beginning of a new nightmare for Nancy: the press is rabid, certain that Nancy isn’t the grieving daughter she’s presenting to the world. Grief-stricken, Nancy flees to the Cornish seaside, to her grandmother’s secluded inn, Tall Chimneys, to escape the media circus and scrutiny. Finally alone, save for a few neighbours who keep to themselves, Nancy is relieved. But she soon realizes that Tall Chimneys holds many dark secrets…and that she is holding the biggest one of all.
