The Ocean Calls : A Haenyeo Mermaid Story

Dayeon wants to be a haenyeo just like Grandma. The haenyeo free dive off the coast of Jeju Island to pluck treasures from the sea. Practice and persistence result in Dayeon overcoming fears and an appreciation for the ocean's resources. Includes information on the history and tradition of Korean haenyeo divers.

A bilingual book, in Tagalog and English. E.J. (for short) has a very, very, very, very long name. It's so long, one line of paper isn't enough for it to fit into. His name takes so long to write that he misses recess! E.J. doesn't like his long name, until Mom explains why his name is special.
