Resources for Evacuees Our hearts go out to all Caldor Fire evacuees and to everyone impacted by the ongoing crisis. Washoe County Library is ready to help any evacuees in need of access to resources like free internet, computers, and printers. Free library cards are also available, and can provide additional access to online resources and digital and print materials. For those taking shelter at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, the Sierra View Library is located within walking distance, across the street in the Reno Town Mall.

In alignment with updated CDC guidelines and the emergency order issued by the State of Nevada, masks are required at all library locations for everyone two years of age or older. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our libraries open.

Book Drop ClosureThe automated book drop at the North Valleys Library will be closed for maintenance on Sunday, September 6, from approximately 6 am to 6 pm. If you need to return materials during this time, please do so at one of our other branches.

Holiday Closure
In observance of Labor Day, all Washoe County Libraries will be closed Monday, September 7. The North Valleys Library will additionally be closed Tuesday, September 8.

On the Shelf/On the Kids' Shelf Your Washoe County Library librarians are hitting the airwaves with a radio series on KUNR! On the Shelf airs each Monday at 6:42 a.m. and 8:42 a.m. during Morning Edition. Listen in for reading recommendations and catch the latest in book news. Then join us every Monday and Wednesday at 11:04 am during The Takeaway and again at 3:48 pm during All Things Considered for On the Kids' Shelf, a quick two-minute segment that includes an engaging book talk, fun activity, and some early literacy tips for families.

September 11-19 The next Friends of Washoe County Library book sale starts next week. As always, it will be held inside the Reno Town Mall, next-door to the Sierra View Library. There will be a members-only night on September 10, 3-6 pm. The Friends of Washoe County Library is a member-supported 501(c)(3) Nevada non-profit organization dedicated to advocating, fundraising, and providing support for the Washoe County Library System.
