Visit our new online exhibit which features mixed media works by the current Reno City Artist, Ruby Barrientos. These works are described by the artist as Nuwave Mayan, a style that incorporates her Salvadoran Mayan ancestry and heritage in the creation of socially relevant works.

Mask Requirement
 
In alignment with updated CDC guidelines and the emergency order issued by the State of Nevada, masks are required at all library locations for everyone two years of age or older.

Get Vaccinated at the Library
 
Immunize Nevada is offering a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic at several of our libraries. Appointments are not required and you do not need to have health insurance. Your privacy will be protected, and receiving the vaccine will not affect your immigration status.

  • Downtown Reno Library - Aug 25, 8 am-noon
  • Northwest Reno Library - Aug 6, 10 am-2 pm
  • Spanish Springs Library - Aug 10 and 31, 10 am-2 pm

On the Shelf/On the Kids' Shelf
 
Your Washoe County Library librarians are hitting the airwaves with a new radio series on KUNR!
 
On the Shelf airs each Monday at 6:42 a.m. and 8:42 a.m. during Morning Edition. Listen in for reading recommendations and catch the latest in book news. 
 
Then join us every Monday and Wednesday at 11:04 am during The Takeaway and again at 3:48 pm during All Things Considered for On the Kids' Shelf, a quick two-minute segment that includes an engaging book talk, fun activity, and some early literacy tips for families.  
 
Tune in to both on KUNR 88.7 FM, or listen online.

The Friends of Washoe County Library is a member-supported 501(c)(3) Nevada non-profit organization dedicated to advocating, fundraising, and providing support for the Washoe County Library System.
