Scientific Racism, Eugenics, and the Holocaust July 19, 5:30 pm: James McSpadden explores the history of scientific racism and antisemitism in 19th and early 20th century Germany, including the gruesome history of human zoos and the development of eugenics.
Americans and the Postwar Legacies of the Holocaust July 22, 2 pm: Presented by James McSpadden, this talk will explore American involvement with the immediate postwar legacies of the Holocaust.
Americans and the Holocaust, on display at the Northwest Reno Library through August 18, addresses Americans' responses to refugees, war and genocide in the 1930s and '40s, challenging the commonly held assumptions that Americans knew little and did nothing about the Nazi persecution and murder of Jews as the Holocaust unfolded.
