National Friends of Libraries Week
October 17-23 is National Friends of Libraries Week, which honors friends of library organizations throughout the country for the support and fund-raising efforts they provide.

Our local organization, Friends of Washoe County Library, has been supporting our library system for more than 40 years. This group of volunteers raises money through memberships, donations, and periodic book sales. Visit their website to become a member.

National Friends of Libraries Week is coordinated by United for Libraries, a division of the American Library Association that supports those who govern, promote, advocate, and fundraise for libraries, and brings together library trustees, advocates, friends, and foundations into a partnership that creates a powerful force for libraries in the 21st century.
