GNOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

“...the treasure of a daily practice isn’t just in the act itself but in the underlying knowledge that you are accomplishing something and you are anchored.”

Jessica Piell-Meininghaus

Winter is a time to reflect on the previous year while looking forward to and setting goals for the coming year. In her memoir The Gnome Project, Jessica Peill-Meininghaus decides to commit to a small project to prove to herself that she can stay focused on a goal. She felts one gnome per day over the course of a year. This ongoing project gives her a sense of accomplishment and keeps her grounded.

You can make your own gnome using these directions. Or sign up for our gnome ornament-making event at the South Valleys Library.

You never know what these adorable little figures could help you accomplish.
