Nevada Historical Society Presents Artown Tuesday Tuesday, July 6, 3 pm Photographer Jack Hursh presents this talk based on his own photographs of Northern Nevada's historic barn architecture. Jack's photography focus on the documentation of large timber framed barns dating back to the 1860s, when large ranches in the area were producing goods for the Virginia City market. Holiday Closure
In observance of Independence Day, all Washoe County Libraries will be closed Sunday and Monday, July 4-5. The North Valleys Library will additionally be closed Tuesday, July 6.

Coming soon: Meeting Rooms and In-person Events In response to the pandemic, Washoe County Library System suspended all in-person programs and use of our reservable meeting rooms. We will continue to reintroduce services throughout the year, and in September we will again be offering meeting rooms and events at our libraries. Until then, please visit our website for information about upcoming and archived events.

On the Shelf/On the Kids' Shelf Your Washoe County Library librarians are hitting the airwaves with a new radio series on KUNR! On the Shelf airs each Monday at 6:42 a.m. and 8:42 a.m. during Morning Edition. Listen in for reading recommendations and catch the latest in book news. Then join us during The Takewaway on Mondays and Wednesdays at 11:04 a.m. or at 3:48 during All Things Considered for On the Kids' Shelf, a quick, two-minute segment that includes an engaging book talk, a fun activity, and some early literacy tips for families.
