The summer issue of our quarterly events guide, the Washoe County Explorer is now available. This issue focuses on online programs the library is offering, including events that are part of our 2020 Reading Summer Reading Adventure.
We work to provide collections that reflect our community and educate about ongoing issues. Celebrate Pride in June by checking out books about and by the LGBTQ community. Find the recomendations on OverDrive or on the Libby app.
Looking for some books to read for our Summer Reading Adventure? Here is a list of 128 books all with the theme of A Hero's Journey. Enjoy videos, book readings, lesson plans, author interviews and more!
As part of our phased reopening plan, most of our book drops are now open Monday through Friday, 10 am-2 pm. Returned items will be quarantined for 72 hours before being checked in, and for now all late fines will continue to be waived.
The book drops at Duncan-Traner, Verdi, and the Senior Center remain closed and will reopen at a later date.
Hold Donations During Closure
We love donations. But during this temporary closure, Washoe County Library and the Friends of Washoe County Library will be unable to accept them.
Please hold on to any items you would like to donate until Washoe County Libraries reopen. Do not leave donations at library branches.
