Create a piece for our tiny art show coming to the South Valleys Library this May. This exhibit will be a collection of paintings on small, four inch square, library-provided canvases. People of all ages are welcome to contribute to the show.
You can join us in person and use our supplies to make your tiny art piece at one of these events:
Or you can pick up a small canvas to complete at home (while supplies last). Canvases must be returned to the South Valleys Library by Monday, April 29, to appear in the show. |

| Wilbur D. May Arboretum & Botanical Garden: A Reno Gem | Sunday, April 14, noon–1 pm
Downtown Reno Library | Established in 1983, the Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Garden houses more than 4,000 native and non-native plant species on nearly 23 acres inside Rancho San Rafael Regional Park in Reno. Luke Sorenson, the arboretum’s horticulturist, will talk about the day-to-day challenges of maintaining this local gem.

| High Noon with Neal Cobb Playa Life: Journey to Inner Space |

Join us as photographer Bob Goodman takes us on a journey through the surprising life forms that have developed from the Black Rock, Toulon, and 4-Mile playas during the summers of 2021 and 2022. This continuing playa project will dispel the idea that playas are lifeless, boring, meaningless landscapes.

Washoe County Library is partnering with the American Heart Association to promote heart health by bringing self-monitored blood pressure kits to the library system.
