Summer Reading Challenge
June 1-July 31
Our 2022 Summer Reading Challenge starts next month. The program is open to readers of all ages, with prizes available to participants ages 0-18. The first 2,000 kids who sign up will receive a Summer Reading Challenge-themed activity bag, and participants can earn free books just by reading or attending library events.

Voices of the Earth
Saturday, May 21, 2-3 pm
South Valleys Library
 
Using a variety of traditional and modern instruments, David Blonski and Pete Fairley of Petroglyph play music influenced by multiple cultures while telling stories of desert landscapes, raging rivers, towering mountains, and tropical islands.
 
A presentation of Pioneer Center Youth Programs.
Movie Afternoon
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas 
Sunday, May 22, 1:30-3:30 pm
Northwest Reno Library 
 
Join us for a viewing of the 2008 film The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. This screening is presented in conjunction with the How Did You Survive?  exhibit currently on display at the Northwest Reno Library.

Tsurunokai brings the ancient art of Japanese taiko drumming to the children of Northern Nevada.

Explore the secret annex where Anne Frank and seven others hid from the Nazis during World War II.

Learn and Make in the Quad

This week we will be working with the vinyl cutter and heat press. You can make a simple sticker for your car window or water bottle, or you can make a personalized tote bag or T-shirt. Choose a simple, two-tone image from the internet, or bring a flash drive with an image file you created.
