Celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride at RainbowFest! This year, Washoe County Library is partnering with our friends at Our Center for a fun community event for families, friends, and allies of all ages!


Local drag artist Miss Ginger Devine and friends are back for Drag Story Hour with more stories that explore diversity and celebrate our differences.


Limited seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each adult attending must be accompanied by one or more children.

Creative writing and science merge in a roleplaying workshop for young writers (6th-10th grade) led by local author Terri Farley.

Little is actively involved with the Douglas County Historical Society, where he oversees Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville and the Courthouse Museum in Genoa.

The Thistlefoot Traveling Puppet Show

Friday, June 16, 3-4:30 pm

North Valleys Library

Join us for a special live book talk and puppet show and book signing with Nevada Reads 2023 featured author GennaRose Nethercott, as she brings her acclaimed novel Thistlefoot to life with hand-crafted shadow panoramas and puppetry.


The novel Thistlefoot addresses the 19th and 20th century pogroms in Eastern Europe that included genocidal violence against Jewish people.


This event is best for ages 12 and up.

This week we will be working with the sublimation printer and heat press. We'll provide you with a coffee mug, coaster, or metal bookmark (limit one item per person), and you can transfer a vivid, full-color design or photograph onto it. Bring an image file (.png or .jpg) on a flash drive or your phone, and leave with a vibrant, one-of-a-kind item.  Sign up for an individual, 30-minute session.

Americans and the Holocaust

Northwest Reno Library

July 7-August 1

The Americans and the Holocaust traveling exhibition addresses important themes in American history, including Americans' responses to refugees, war, and genocide.


In conjunction with the exhibit, events are planned for all ages to explore the topics presented in the exhibit.
