Adult Summer Reading: All Together Now

Thursday, June 1 - Monday, July 31 | All Branches

At Haywood County libraries, summer reading for adults means visiting your library, getting great book suggestions, and winning prizes!

This year, celebrate the theme “All Together Now” and participate in our favorite summer activity…reading! Adults are invited to celebrate this year’s theme through reading, listening, and watching.

Sign up and get your goodie bag at any branch and receive a reusable tote bag filled with suggested reading brochures, a sweet treat, and a chance to win prizes!

The first and second place prizes will be a gift basket filled with books

and handpicked items from local businesses.

Prizes will be awarded Monday, August 7.

Friends of the Library Author Talk

Join the Friends of the Library for their annual Author Talk with Dale Neal,

a native North Carolinian and teacher living in Asheville,

and self-described "novelist, journalist, teacher, and wanderer."

Neal is the author of the upcoming novel Kings of Coweetsee, exploring how

change comes to a hill born and hill bound people in a mountain community.

His previous novels, Appalachian Book of the Dead, The Half-Life of Home,

and Cow Across America, are all set in the Blue Ridge Mountains.


Join us for an evening of friendship and discussion.

All are welcome – member or not. Children 12 and under are free.
