Julie BlumeCirculation volunteer Julie Blume began volunteering in 2013 as a Circulation Specialist. Throughout the years, Julie worked in Bin Sorting, Shelving, and Materials Check-In. From 2013 to March 2020, Julie provided the library with over 600 hours of service. A shift working with Julie meant there’d be great conversation and lots of jokes shared, as Julie was known for her wonderful sense of humor. Julie was a supreme volunteer, friend, and library enthusiast and is greatly missed.

Janice DorrJanice Dorr began volunteering at Tigard Public Library in 1997, but her love for libraries extended long before then. Years prior, she considered pursuing her Master’s in Library Science, but instead decided to volunteer with the Peace Corps. A lifelong public servant, Janice was a phenomenal volunteer who’s love for the library and its community was evident in the dedication and longevity of her work. Janice volunteered in the Circulation Division and provided the library nearly 1,000 hours of service. She is missed every day.

Alex ZatarainAlex Zatarain began volunteering with the library in 2016. As an Entry Point Greeter for the Circulation Division, Alex’s friendly face was often the first thing library patrons saw when they entered the building. His kind demeanor made everyone feel welcome, and his love for his community was evident in his dedication to the library and its services. Providing the library with over 650 hours of service, Alex was a wonderful volunteer whose service and kind demeanor will not be forgotten.

Richard StammerRichard Stammer welcomed all staff, patron, and volunteers with a gentle smile and friendly conversation. During his time at the library, he volunteered with Material Check-In, Shelving, Shelf Reading, Newspaper Rotation, Unclaimed Holds Processing, Books Sales and Donations, and more. Richard gifted the library nearly 7,000 hours of service since 2007. Richard was a wonderful volunteer and library advocate and will be remembered, always.
