Be Prepared

Last year, the New Yorker article "The Really Big One" made waves as it detailed how woefully unprepared those of us in the Pacific Northwest are for the next big Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake. So let's get prepared!

On Wednesday, September 21, the library will host the Emergency Preparedness Resources Fair at Raleigh Park Elementary from 5:30pm-8:00pm. Representatives from the American Red Cross, Washington County Sheriff, Washington County Emergency Cooperative, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, Citizens Participation Organization 3, and local neighborhood associations and businesses will be at Raleigh Park Elementary to share resources and information about steps you and your family can take to prepare not only for a big earthquake but for other emergencies, too. At 6:30pm, the American Red Cross will offer its "Prepare!" presentation in addition to the information that will be available at the fair.
