Hello!

The transformation of the library space and the progress of the unpacking is apparent every day! June is shaping up to be a big month with the start of Summer Reading and our re-opening.

We are so excited to welcome you back for limited in-person services starting on June 16! Because COVID guidance is changing rapidly, we will send out a special newsletter the day before our re-opening with details of what to expect when you visit.

Here is what I can share now:

  • Masks will be required throughout your visit inside the library. Continuing to wear a mask supports members of our community who have not yet had an opportunity to become fully vaccinated and it also demonstrates our commitment to equity, acknowledging the ongoing risk facing members of historically underserved communities who may visit our library.

  • Starting June 11, you’ll be able to place holds for West Slope. If you moved your holds to other libraries while we were closed, you can switch back to us after the 11th. You can also contact us because we would be happy to help making that switch for you.

  • Your holds that were inactive during the remodel will also be reactivated. Contact us if you no longer want those items.

  • We will have a limited capacity that includes staff so it will vary day by day. Don’t worry, we will have someone at the front door to help.

  • Our exterior return slot will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • Computer reservations will be available for 30 minutes on a first come, first serve basis.

  • Summer Reading sign up starts TODAY! Kids 18 years old or younger will be able to pick up their free book after we re-open.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Take care,
Kristen
Reading Role Model

Being a Reading Role Model is like being an influencer for reading! And how can you do that? When you go online to sign up for Summer Reading you can choose to be a Reading Role Model for one person or many!

Share with us how you are being a reading role model each month this summer and we will give you a super cute Reading Role Model button for your backpack or shopping bag. There’s a paperless option online on our website or a paper form that you can fill out and turn in to us by September 1.

Time to update your holds!

You'll soon be able to place holds for our library again. Learn how to switch your pick up location in the online catalog.
