Hello!

We are hoping that our delayed carpet shipment will be arriving very soon!  After installation we can start moving in our furniture so network and electrical work can be finished before the last round of inspections happen. Then we need to unpack and establish new procedures for our new space.  There is still a lot of work left to do but we are excited to offer you in person services again as soon as we can. Stay tuned for more updates!

We value having accurate and current information on our shelves for you to access and meet your needs. Last Fall the librarians spent time doing a large-scale evaluation of our library collections.

We followed national recognized methodology, CREW, and locally generated data to deselect items that were potentially harmful, like outdated medical or legal information, or were items that hadn't circulated in years showing us that those items were no longer useful for our community. Evaluations like is, and the data we collect in the process, will help us be better selectors in the future bringing you the material that is most relevant to our diverse community.

Recently we have also created a new Collection Development Policy that outlines the process of what we use to select and deselect materials. That policy has been reviewed by the Library’s Advisory Board and will go through the process of review and adoption with Washington County. We look forward to being able to share the policy with you soon.

Take care!
Kristen

In our hearts

Last week our friend Laura passed away. She was a part of our library community for over 15 years. First as a Library Advisory Board member, then as a member Friends of the Library Board, and then as a staff member on the library team.

She loved helping people at the front desk but one of her favorite things to do was share the love of books with kiddos and their grownups at the library's "Book Babies" Storytime.

We are grateful for the time we got to spend with her and for all of her contributions to our community. We will keep Laura, her family, and her friends in our hearts.

New phone number March 1!

We are switching to the County's phone system as a part of our remodel. This will reduce costs and provide us with a more robust phone system to help patrons.

Starting March 1, you can contact us on the library's new phone number:
