Join us for an afternoon of board and tabletop games, every 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. Enjoy one of the games from the library or bring your own. Library games include Canasta, Dominoes, Trivia Pursuit, Cribbage, Bingo and many more.

Tuesday Morning Children's Storytime (Ages 1-5) Every Tuesday, 10:30 - 11 am 
This thirty minute program lets your child develop literacy and practice social skills.
 
Music & Movement for Kids (Ages 1-5) Every Thursday, 10:30 - 11 am
Fun with shaker eggs, colorful scarves, and songs you might enjoy singing even after class.
 
Read to a Dog Monday, April 10, 6 pm
Children age 3-11 are invited to practice their reading skills by reading to a sweet therapy dog. Bring a book of your choice, or ask a librarian for one when you arrive.  Please register for a 10 minute time slot.

Play in the Dirt! Plant Children's Learning Garden - Monday, April 17, 6 pm
Children age 5-7 are encouraged to get involved in planting this year’s Children’s Learning Garden at the library!  They will learn how to prepare, plant, and care for one of the garden plots, especially selected for them!  We will meet rain or shine for some fun gardening activities. Saving Energy at Home to Save Money

This program will focus on providing home maintenance tips and ways to be energy efficient and easy ways to make the living environment (inside and outside) safe and comfortable. NC Schools of Longrifles & Power Horns
NC Schools of Longrifles and Powder Horns: 
Presented by Michael Briggs
Tuesday, April 18, 6:30 pm
Michael Briggs is an author and independent scholar living in Greensboro. He has published four books that concern different schools of long rifle makers, namely, those in Rowan, Mecklenburg, Guilford, and Forsyth. Mr. Briggs also authored Piedmont North Carolina Banded Powder Horns - Hunting Bags - Bullet Molds, as well as Guilford Under the Stars and Bars. The latter book covers all of the major events that happened in Guilford County, North Carolina during the Civil War. This free event is sponsored by the Walkertown Area Historical Society.

Did you know that there’s a book sale every day at the Walkertown Library? We get a lot of donations from our generous patrons, and the Friends organize it into our wonderful book sale. The stock changes every day, as we do a brisk business! Donations accepted.
 
The Big Spring Book Sale is scheduled for May 3-6. Let us know if you'd like to volunteer.
