Summer Reading Kickoff
Saturday: June 8th, 10:00AM-12:00PM
Library Front Lawn
Join us on the lawn to kick off our summer reading program. Pet mini horses, play videogames, make a craft, challenge loved ones to a round of miniature golf, get a caricature of your face drawn, and enjoy live magic by a strolling magician. Free fun for the whole family. 
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
 
Comedy Juggling Show 
Monday: June 10th at 6:30PM
Second-Floor Bookstore
Join us for a wacky juggling show with Michael Rayner, who has juggled on America's Got Talent, Sesame Street, and the Late Show with David Letterman. You will laugh. You will be amazed. You might see a spinning cheeseburger.
 
Seating is limited. We will begin distributing tickets at the door at 6:00PM. Ticket will be required for entry. We will cut the line and close the doors if we reach capacity. 
 
No registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
 
Read to a BARK Therapy Dog
Tuesday: June 11th at 6:45PM - 7:45PM
Children's Fiction Area
Kids 12 and younger, come read to our dog pals in the Children's Fiction Area. Readers will receive a time slot with a dog on a first come, first served basis. 
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Free Art Time
Thursday: June 13th at 10:00AM
Second-Floor Bookstore
Kids ages 4-12, express your creativity and create art using craft supplies provided by the library. Make a collage. Make a sculpture. Make anything you want.

Pajama-rama Storytime

Children's Room
Join us is your pajamas for an evening of stories. Stuffed animal friends are more than welcome. Fun for the whole family.

Drop In Craft: Minecraft Box Head
Friday: June 14th - Saturday: June 15th
Children's Room, while supplies last
Kids ages 3-12, drop in and turn a cardboard box into a Minecraft character using colored paper squares.

Therapy Dog Storytime
featuring Rocket & Gracie
Saturday: June 15th at 10:00AM

Rocket and Gracie want to meet you! Hear how they became therapy dogs, learn about what therapy dogs do, and listen to Miss Linda and Miss Chelli read stories.

Drop In Craft: Cat Goes Camping

Kids ages 4-12, adopt a miniature toy cat, and make a tent for it. Make sure you take your cat camping in its new tent, or it will give you cat-itude all summer long!

Soccer Storytime

Listen to soccer players on Orange County Soccer Club read stories and hear about their lives as pro athletes. All ages welcome.

Magic Show w/ Justin Rivera

Join us as we welcome magician Justin Rivera, who has headlined shows at Google and was a judges' favorite on America’s Got Talent.

Teen Advisory Board Meeting

Have you ever wanted to offer your own ideas or organize programs at the Buena Park Library for people your age? We want to hear from you and we want to give you volunteer hours for it!
 
Ask for a TAB application at the Reference Desk or the Children's Desk. Not sure you want to apply? Stop by our Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meeting on the first Tuesday of every month in the Teen Space and ask to sit in and observe. 
 
**please note that our TAB applications are different from our Summer Teen Volunteers Application. Volunteer hours for TAB tend to be 1 hour per month, plus opportunities to earn additional hours throughout.  Anyone who signs up for both will have to fill out both applications and are expected to have the time commitment to serve both entities.

Kanopy is accessible via mobile and tablet apps for iPhone and Android. You can also access Kanopy on your Desktop, and SmartTV apps like Roku, Apple TV, and Fire Stick.

Take-Home Craft Kit: 
Beaded Garden Stake

Want to add some sparkle to your garden or a potted plant? Come pick up a take-home craft kit and put together your own beaded garden stake. Beads included will vary in color and design.
