Cafe Study Sesh

Calling all teens in need of caffeine and a study space!
 
Bring your friends to the Library and enjoy some lo-fi music, a virtual crackling fire, lattes, and pastries for all your cozy cafe needs.
 
Take study breaks at our de-stressor station equipped with fidgets and other calming activities. Basic study materials and charging outlets will be provided. Ask our Teen Library staff for assistance in using our free research and study databases. 
 
No registration required. Ages 13-18, come cram with us!

Snowman Tummy Ornament
Pick up at Reference Desk

Warm up your winter with this cool snowman craft! Each kit will contain everything you need to make your very own snowman tummy ornament. Kit materials may vary.
 
Kits will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Reference Desk or via Curbside Service starting Friday, Dec. 1st.

Book Club for Adults

Join us this month for a discussion on The Swimmers by Julie Otsuka. 
 
The swimmers are unknown to one another except through their private routines (slow lane, medium lane, fast lane) and the solace each takes in their morning or afternoon laps. But when a crack appears at the bottom of the pool, they are cast out into an unforgiving world without comfort or relief.

Stories with Soccer Stars
Monday: Dec. 4th at 4:30PM

Meet 3 professional soccer players from Orange County Soccer Club! The OCSC players will read us stories, share about their lives as pro athletes, and answer audience questions. You might even go home with some free OCSC merch. Fun for the whole family.

Holiday Cards for Seniors
Tuesday: Dec. 5th - Saturday, Dec. 9th
Children's Room
Kids 12 and younger, make holiday cards for seniors. The cards will be given to seniors at the Buena Park senior center's holiday luncheon. Help make senior citizens of our community feel loved. 
 
No registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Read to a BARK Therapy Dog
Tuesday: Dec. 12th at 6:45PM
Children's Fiction Area
Kids 12 and younger, come read to our dog pals in the children's fiction area. Readers will receive a time slot with a dog on a first come, first served basis. 
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Korean/English Storytime

Winter Fleece Throw Pillow

Kids 4-12, join us for a cozy night in. Warm up your heart by listening to a reading of Olaf's Night Before Christmas, and make a tie knot fleece throw pillow to snuggle up with. Younger children may need assistance tying knots. No sewing required.
 
Limited to 54 participants. 1 craft per child.

Bookworm Time Capsule
Tuesday, Dec. 27th - Saturday, Jan. 6th
Children's Room
Kids 12 and younger, stop by the children’s room to guess how many gummy worms are in the bookworm jar, and pick up a bookworm mini time capsule kit to decorate and complete at home.
 
Open your mini time capsule at the very end of 2024 to see if your reading tastes have changed (or stayed the same!) by the end of the year. While supplies last.
