Kanopy is Buena Park Library's new video streaming service that provides instant access to thousands of critically acclaimed movies, documentaries, and kid favorites. Kanopy partners with studios like A24, The Criterion Collection, PBS and more to bring your library access to thoughtful entertainment. 
 
How can I watch Kanopy?
You can stream up to 5 Kanopy features per month on any of your favorite devices! Kanopy is accessible via mobile and tablet apps for iPhone and Android. You can also access Kanopy on your Desktop, and SmartTV apps like Roku, Apple TV, and Fire Stick.
 
How to create an account:
  • To get started, visit buenapark.kanopy.com and select the “Add Library Card” button on the lower left
  • Enter your library card credentials
  • Create an account using your preferred email
  • Begin streaming!
Books in a Jar Guessing Game
Tuesday, Jan. 3rd - Tuesday, Jan. 31st
Children's Room
Kids 12 and under, take a look at our books in a jar. Then try to figure out what books they are. They'll be disguised, so it'll be tricky! Correct guesses will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 Target gift card.

Winter Reading Challenge
Wednesday, Jan. 18th - Tuesday, Feb. 28th
Children's Room
Kids 12 and under, pick up a reading log and read 10 books. Kids who complete the challenge will be able to adopt a mini Squishmallow from the Squishville Public Library in the Children's Room. Kids who cannot read can be read to/with.

Read to a BARK Therapy Dog
Tuesday, Jan. 10th at 6:45PM-7:45PM
Children's Fiction Area
Come read to our dog pals in the children's fiction area. Readers will receive a time slot with a dog on a first come, first served basis.
 
All participants 2 years of age and older will be required to wear a mask while participating in this program.

Calliope Digital Literary Magazine
Calliope is Buena Park Library District’s Teen Digital Literary Magazine. Inspired by the Greek muse of eloquence and poetry, our magazine aims to amplify creative voices and raise conversations in the community.  
Every quarter, a new theme will be announced and middle and high school students who live in or near Buena Park can submit art, poetry, short stories, and media (books, movies, TV shows, music) reviews related to the theme. Participants will not only have their work published, but will be given service hours as a reward for their work.
