In-N-Out Reading Challenge
Saturday: Oct. 5th - Saturday: Nov. 16th
Children's Room
Kids ages 4-12, read to receive up to three free In-N-Out hamburgers, cheeseburgers, or grilled cheese sandwiches. Pick up a reading log in the Children's Room. 
 
Last day to register for this reading challenge is Nov. 16th.
Last day to submit reading log is Nov. 23rd. Child must be present when reading log is submitted.
 
The Library thanks In-N-Out for generously sponsoring this program. 
Read to a BARK Therapy Dog
Tuesday: Oct. 8th at 6:45PM-7:45PM
Children's Fiction Area
Kids 12 and younger, come read to our dog pals in the Children's Fiction Area. Readers will receive a time slot with a dog on a first-come, first-served basis. 
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Disguise a Turkey
Monday: Oct. 14th - Wednesday: Nov. 27th
Children's Room, while supplies last
Kids 12 years old and younger, Turkey needs your help. Please disguise him so that he won't be eaten for Thanksgiving supper. Pick up your blank turkey in the Children's Room, give him a disguise, and return him to the Library by November 27th. We will put your disguised turkey on display. 
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Halloween Magic Show
Monday: October 28th, 6:30PM-7:15PM
Second-Floor Multipurpose Room
Join us for a "not so spooky" Halloween magic show by magician Billy Bonkers. Fun for the whole family.
 
Seating is limited and not guaranteed. We will begin distributing tickets at the Children's Desk at 5:30PM. Ticket will be required for entry. We will cut the line and close the doors if we reach capacity.
 
 No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Decorate a Fabric Pumpkin
Tuesday: October 29th, all day
Children's Room, while supplies last
Kids ages 3-12, stop by the Children's Room to decorate a fabric pumpkin. We'll supply the pumpkin and craft supplies, and you'll provide the creativity. While supplies last. 
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Make Your Own UFO
Wednesday: Oct. 30th, all day
Children's Room, while supplies last
Kids ages 3-12, stop by the Children's Room to make your own UFO craft. While supplies last.
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Candy Corn Micro Succulent
Thursday: October 31st, all day
Children's Room, while supplies last
Kids ages 3-12, stop by the Children's Room to transform a mini pot into a candy corn and take it home with a mini succulent inside. While supplies last.  
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger. 
Trick or Treating
Thursday: Oct. 31st at 5:00PM-7:00PM
Children's Room
Kids of all ages, make the Library a stop during your evening of trick or treating. Visit the four stations in the Children's Room for some candy. We will provide candy until supplies last. 
 
No pre-registration is required. Caregivers must accompany children 10 years of age and younger.

PROGRAMS FOR TEENS
 
Cafe Study Sesh
Tuesday: October 8th, 6:00PM-7:30PM
Calling all teens in need of caffeine and a study space! Bring your friends to the Library and enjoy some cafe style music, a virtual crackling fire, lattes from 7 Leaves, and snacks for all your cozy cafe needs.
 
Take study breaks at our de-stressor station equipped with fidgets and other calming activities. Basic study materials and charging outlets will be provided.  
 
No registration required. Ages 12-18, come cram with us!
Teen Tuesday 
Spooky Crafternoon:
Painting Ghosts, Pumpkins, & Ghouls!
Tuesday: October 22nd, 6:00PM-7:30PM
This spooky season, get crafty with our mini pumpkin decorating station, and the return of last year's ghost painting trend--where we paint ghosts onto vintage style pictures.
 
Enjoy Halloween snacks and a creepy playlist to match. Come vibe and get spooooky with us!

Meet with The Orange County Registrar of Voters
Monday: October 7th at 11:00AM & 5:00PM
Second-Floor Multipurpose Room

The Orange County Registrar of Voters will be providing a presentation at the Buena Park Library. This presentation will include the history of voting, voter registration, and how to vote in Orange County. They will also have staff on-site to register anybody interested in voting. 
 
Sessions will be held at 11:00AM and 5:00PM.

Adult DIY Club: Dia de los Muertos

The Buena Park Library would like to invite you to a DIY art event for all adults. This event will highlight the Dia de Los Muertos tradition. Together, we will create sugar skull rocks and glowing sugar skull mason jar lanterns.
 
Come and learn more about this tradition and create a community with all of us. Feel free to invite a friend, neighbor, or family member.
 
Supplies will be provided, while they last. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
