Resume Reboot Workshop

Do you struggle figuring out what keywords to include on your resume? Do you need help with your resume design elements? Do you know how to really showcase your value to potential employers? 
 
The Buena Park Library is pleased to present a virtual workshop in collaboration with Brainfuse JobNow and Ashley Watkins, a Job Search Coach, Nationally Certified Resume Writer (NCRW), and Nationally Certified Online Profile Expert (NCOPE) with Write Step Resumes.

Join us this month for a discussion on Barracoon: The Story of the Last "Black Cargo" by Zora Neal Hurston. This work of non-fiction is based on the interviews with Cudjoe Lewis, the last presumed living survivor of the transatlantic slave trade.

Do you still need to take the SAT or ACT? What are the best topics for your college application essay? When should I start preparing for applications? How do I find the best college for me? What are college admissions officers looking for in extracurricular activities? Who should write my letters of recommendations? How does financial aid work? Get these questions and more answered during this workshop presented by Collegewise.
 
Pre-registration is required. This workshop is geared towards 11th and 12th graders, but all high school students are welcome.

Craft Time with Miss Shailene
Miss Shailene will demonstrate how to make cool crafts with items found around the home in these pre-recorded videos! A new video is posted every Monday at 11:00 AM on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. 
Rhyme Time with Miss Shailene
These pre-recorded videos will help children and their caretakers learn rhymes. Why teach children rhymes? Incorporating a variety of fun language experiences in young children's lives is proven to advance brain development, nurse attachment, further language development, stimulate motor skills, and foster pre-literacy skills. Learn knee bouncing rhymes, finger plays, hand rhymes, and movement songs. A new storytime is posted every Thursday at 11:00 AM on our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
