Socrates Café gatherings are held around the world, where people from different backgrounds get together and exchange thoughtful ideas and experiences. Persons attending gatherings engage in a common quest for a better understanding of human nature, and in the process strive for a more inclusive world. Iconoclast Authors: Jane and Paul Bowles

Paul and Jane Bowles, both writers, had an unusual marriage, but it was enduring. Their nontraditional relationship allowed them both to express their bisexuality. They led nomadic lives and enjoyed friendships with homosexual writers and composers in New York, Paris, and Tangier.
