Do you need community service hours? The Downtown Library and Spanish River Library are seeking teen volunteers (ages 14 and up) for the summer! Volunteers will sign up people for Summer Reading, hand out prizes, answer questions and more. A City of Boca Raton Volunteer Application is available through the link above or at our Youth Services desks. Apply as soon as possible to provide time for the City to process your application.

Artist Lecture with Craig McInnis

Professional artist Craig McInnis will speak about his commercial and fine-art career, which has spanned over 25 years. His diverse portfolio ranges from fine art on canvas, murals, illustration and design to work in TV and motion pictures. Topics include his techniques, studio practice, arts education, advocacy, and choosing to be an artist as a viable career. Questions from attendees are strongly encouraged. Some of his artwork is on display in the lobby of the Downtown Library. Enrollment is recommended.

Friends Speaker Series: Author Robert P. Watson, PhD

Story Central Storytelling Slam

It's a community storytelling concert. It's a friendly competition. It's a chance to make new connections and renew old ones. The 2022 Story Central Storytelling Slam is back in person as well as online! If you can join us in person, come for the delightful cafe atmosphere, coffee and tea, cookies and 5-7-minute personal stories (not read or memorized) from the audience. First prize: $50.
