Unbound World Book Club: The Vanished Birds, by Simon Jimenez
Thursday, July 8, 7:00-8:00pm
Virtual discussion
Nia is a woman out of place and outside of time until she meets a mysterious boy, fallen from the sky. The scarred child's only form of communication is the beautiful, haunting music he plays on an old wooden flute. These two outsiders discover in each other the things they lack. For him, a home, a place of love and safety. For her, an anchor to the world outside herself. For both, a family. But the past hungers for the boy, and when it catches up, it threatens to tear this family apart. Click here to reserve or access your copy of the book.

An Hour to Kill Mystery Book Club: When No One Is Watching, by Alyssa Cole
Friday, July 16, 10:30-11:30am
Virtual discussion
Sydney’s Brooklyn neighborhood seems to change every time she blinks. Condos are sprouting like weeds, FOR SALE signs are popping up overnight, and neighbors she’s known all her life are disappearing. She channels her frustration into a walking tour and finds an unlikely and unwanted assistant in her new neighbor Theo. But their deep dive into history quickly becomes a dizzying descent into paranoia and fear. Their neighbors may not have moved to the suburbs after all, and the push to revitalize the community may be more deadly than advertised. Click here to reserve a copy.
