Story Central Storytelling Slam

It's a community storytelling concert. It's a friendly competition. It's a chance to make new connections and renew old ones. If you can join us in person, come for the delightful cafe atmosphere, coffee and tea, cookies and 5-7-minute personal stories (not read or memorized) from the audience. First prize: $50. Fall Storytime Enrollment Begins (Session 1)

Enrollment will open on the dates above for the 6-week Storytime Session 1. Due to demand, we currently have room for 1 registered storytime enrollment per child. Classes begin the week of August 29 and end the week of October 7. If the class is full, the next 10 people will be placed on the waiting list. Registered storytime classes include:

Art Exhibit: Collage Alive, by Margarita Vigne

The Spanish River Library presents a new art exhibit, "Collage Alive," by Colombian artist Margarita Vigne. Using a variety of materials, Vigne creates unique collages and abstract paintings that capture the beauty of animals and nature. Don't miss this gorgeous exhibit!

Art Exhibit: Nomad Be Happy, by Ma Nong

The Downtown Library presents a new art exhibit, "Nomad Be Happy," by Ma Nong. Painting in oil on canvas, the artist uses a combination of cubes and bold colors to "symbolize complex units that both comprise and undermine identity." Originally from South Korea, Ma Nong currently lives in South Florida. Join us for this unique exhibit.

To celebrate this year's Summer Reading theme, Oceans of Possibilities, the Division of Library and Information Services and Florida State Parks bring you The Real Florida Reader state park pass, which is free to borrow with your Boca Raton Public Library card. The pass allows single day-use entry for a single passenger vehicle (up to 8 people).
