Fun Fatale Trio Concert Monday, May 1 at 6 p.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium Deeply musical and always fun, this award winning trio will put on a program that runs the gamut from sweet traditional numbers to quirky songs designed to leave you with smiles and a warm feeling. Recently relocated to Winston Salem, the Trio is quickly making it's mark, representing Forsyth County and winning the silver medal in the state-wide Silver Arts competition for performing artists. Hook & Loop Group Wednesday, May 3 at 11 a.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium
Come and join the Hook & Loop Group, a monthly gathering of yarn crafters who like to knit, crochet, embroider, and such. Bring your own project to work on or use some simple supplies and patterns we will have on hand. All skill levels are welcome. We share each other’s company and maybe a tip or two about a project. Yoga for Beginners Thursday, May 4 and 11 at Noon (revised dates) Lewisville Branch Auditorium Join us at the library for a free session of yoga to help uplift your mind and strengthen your body. Belly Dancing for Beginners Friday, May 5 at 3 p.m. (revised time) Lewisville Branch Auditorium
Get your shimmy on! Learn the basic moves of this beautiful dance form as we bring people of all ages together to promote health, happiness, and community. Suitable for all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes. This is a free monthly class. Contact the library at 336-703-2940 for more information. Acrylic Pouring with Amy Guerrini Friday, May 5 at 10 a.m. *Registration opens starting Friday, April 28 at 9 a.m. Galloway Community Center Paint at the Lewisville Branch using the technique of acrylic pouring. Local artist and instructor Amy Guerrini returns to demonstrate this unique technique and help participants create their own work of art. Paint supplies will be provided. Color & Coffee Group Friday, May 12 and 26 at 10 a.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium Relax and relieve some stress by dropping in to do some coloring and socializing. The library will provide coloring sheets, pencils and gel pens. Coffee and hot chocolate will be available. Free and open to the public.

Witchy Washi & What Not Wednesday, May 17 at 10 a.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium
Join our monthly washi tape and what not craft group. The group meets in person every third Wednesday of the month from 10-11:30. This is a great group to join to meet other crafters and learn to make all sorts of fun projects, many of which include the use of washi tape! Supplies will be provided. Master Gardener Volunteer Program - Information Session Wednesday, May 24 at 2 p.m. Lewisville Branch Auditorium Calling all gardeners – experienced or novice. Join us for an information session about the Forsyth County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer (EMGV) program. EMGV is a training program dedicated to developing excellence in volunteers through continuing education and community engagement. An initial training course is held once per year and is followed by a required year-long 'internship' where new volunteers get connected to current volunteer and education opportunities and fellowship with certified EMGVs. No gardening knowledge is required, only a willingness to learn and volunteer with N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County staff and agents to educate your community.
N.C. Cooperative Extension Agent Anika Parks will present about the format of the Forsyth County EMGV Program, volunteer requirements, the application and interview process, and highlight the volunteer and education opportunities. There will be time at the end of the session for questions, as well as paper applications to fill out. Registration is recommended. Lewisville Branch Reading ChallengeReading Logs due Saturday, Dec. 9Take our yearlong reading challenge for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Bookmarks bookstore. The challenge has two levels: Beginner and Aficionado. You can choose to read one or both challenges.

Nature Notebooks March 18 - May 31Pick up your Nature Notebook at the Lewisville Branch Library starting on March 18 (while supplies last). Participants will find plants that are native to NC in the wild and draw them. When they have drawn a plant in each category required, participants will bring their notebooks to the Lewisville Branch Library for a prize. Participants will have until May 31 to complete their notebooks. Each Nature Notebook comes with a packet of wildflower seeds. Presented by Stormwater Smart of The Piedmont Triad Regional Council. Friends Ongoing Book Sale The Friends' ongoing book sale is always open during library hours. Donations welcome. PRICES: Hardbacks - $2 Paperbacks - $1 Children's books - $.50 Movies, music, audiobooks - $2 Magazines - $.25 Become a Friends Board Member The Friends of the Lewisville Library Board is looking for new members. As a board member, you'd take an active role in shaping the future of the organization, allocating funds, fundraising and recruiting new members. If you're looking for a way to volunteer in your community and support the library at the same time, then this is a perfect place to start.
