YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL
🌟 Banff Public Library YOUth Advisory Council:
YOUth Voices, Library Choices: Shaping Our Story 📚

Are you a student in grades 9-12 living in Banff?
Are you tired of adults planning programs based on what they think you will find interesting?
Do you have ideas that you think the community would love, but you are not certain how to bring it to life?

If this sounds like you, we invite you to join us for the launch of the YOUth Advisory Council—an opportunity for you to shape the library experience for you, your fellow students, and the greater community.

What is the YOUth Advisory Council?
Say goodbye to adult-planned programs and hello to a platform designed for you to share ideas, propose initiatives, and co-create a library experience that truly resonates. It's not just a council; it's a dynamic space where you take the lead in influencing how the library connects with Banff's youth.

Why Join?
🤝 Collaborative Vision: Work together with your peers and the library team to enhance library programs and services based on your unique perspectives.

📚 Library Innovation: Bring your ideas to the table and help us bridge any gaps you see in the library's offerings.

🌱 Leadership Development: Develop valuable leadership skills by actively participating in the planning and delivery of library initiatives.

🌍 Community Connection: Be part of a group that shares your passion for literature, learning, and community engagement.

👥 Boss Us Around: Take the lead and influence decisions. This is your chance to have a say in shaping the library experience for Banff's youth!

📊 Volunteer Hours & Resume Booster: Your participation in the YOUth Advisory Council counts as volunteer hours, is a great resume builder, and looks excellent on college applications.

How to Get Involved:

📝 Application:  To express your interest, email Natasha at nmassey@banfflibrary.ab.ca, with a short paragraph explaining your interest or sharing an idea that you have.

🗓️ Meetings: Once we have our team, we'll work together to find a meeting time that suits everyone.

🚀 Application Deadline: We are accepting applications until December 31, 2023.
