The Waters of North Carolina Community Art Show Invitation June 1 – August 15 This summer experience the oceans possibilities right here in North Carolina. Share with the library any 2D art from which showcases North Carolina waterfalls, creeks, streams, lakes, or more! You may bring in original art or submit digital images to learninglab@hickorync.gov. Art will be accepted starting May 9th and may be submitted through the duration of the Summer Learning Program. Please scan images at 300 dpi. If you need help scanning your work, visit us at the library and we will be glad to help you. No art work will be returned. Include your name, age, and title/subject on your image with your submission to be displayed. You may also submit anonymously. This is not a competition. This is a community art show. Outside Stretch-n-Grow Storytime Tues. | June 7 to Aug 16 | 10 am Kids ages 3 and up are invited to join the library and certified fitness instructors from Stretch-n-Grow for a stretchy, awesome, cardio-infused storytime! Please bring a towel/blanket/yoga mat, wear comfortable clothing, and get ready to move, stretch, and listen to stories, while focusing on flexibility, strength, and literacy. Grub Club Tues. | June 7-Aug 9 | 12 pm All youth are invited to join the Grub Club! We’ll meet each Tuesday afternoon at the picnic shelter at Taft Broome Park to do a fun STEAM activity and enjoy a bag lunch. Free lunch is available at Brown Penn Recreation Center (or bring your own). In the event of unfavorable weather, activities will be moved to Brown Penn Recreation Center.
