While most of us feel helpless when confronted with geopolitical machinations of this scale, there are ways you can help the citizens of Ukraine right now. Here is a short list of verified reputable charitable organizations you can donate to. Global Empowerment Mission Global Empowerment Mission is on the ground in the tiny village of Medyka, Poland, using donations to buy refugees train and plane tickets to help them reach any family or friends they may have in Europe. World Central Kitchen For many refugees, food is an immediate need. Chef Jose Andrés has set up his World Central Kitchen on the ground at the Ukraine-Poland border providing warm meals for the hungry. Americares Americares has deployed an emergency response team to Krakow, Poland, to provide aid to the Ukrainian refugees there. According to their press release, they have been sending "large-scale shipments of medicine and relief supplies" to the refugees and are prepared to "deliver medicine, medical supplies, emergency funding and relief items to the region" at will. |
