Artist Talk: May 22 at 3PM “Deep Time (.25 cent bin)” is an archive of lost and anonymous objects, collected over the course of 10 years and altered with embroidery and printmaking. This work is made up of letters, objects, photographs and trash found in dumpsters, abandoned homes and thrift shops. The objects are the evidence of people’s lives that have been forgotten to time, but as a collection they form a sense of shared memory. Maeve McCool is a visual artist who works in a range of mediums including drawing, printmaking, fiber work and installation, with a focus on decay, regrowth, memory and loss. Learn more here. Engagement Activity Viewers are invited to contribute their own found objects to the Deep Time Anonymous Archive! This could be other people’s objects, drawings, photographs or letters that you have found, or something of your own. Perhaps you have a memory that you captured in a photograph or in writing— by including it in the archive, it will live forever with the memories of people from all different times and places. These objects will be integrated into the installation. These awards are made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson. |

Join us for the planting or come and ask questions and take advantage of this opportunity to learn about pollinators and native plants. The Wallkill Valley Pollinator Pathway teamed up with the library to create a pollinator garden next to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail. A tarp which was placed in the Winter of 2021 to smother a 500 square foot section of lawn has been removed and native seedlings will be planted into the prepared ground. |

The Mohonk Preserve Volunteer Photographers are a group of committed and active volunteers who capture and share images of all aspects of the Mohonk Preserve on an ongoing basis and by special assignment. The images are used by the Preserve in their publications, website and publicity to build awareness of the Preserve and its mission of protecting the Shawangunk Mountains region and inspiring people to care for, enjoy and explore their natural world.

Sashiko is a popular type of traditional Japanese embroidery. In this class you will hand stitch a Sashiko design onto a piece of cloth that can then be used to decorate a jacket, jeans, pillow, etc.
Denise has been sewing for decades and has a passion for sharing the creative and therapeutic benefits of hand stitching with others. She is also a visual artist who creates with paints, papers and other materials.

The Gardiner Library and the Wallkill Valley Pollinator Pathway are hosting a native plant sale to complement the library’s new pollinator garden. The small plants, called landscape plugs, are much less expensive than container plants and an excellent way to keep costs down while trying out some new plants. This first sale will be followed by future sales where we hope to offer a wider selection of species and a larger number of native plants. |

Community Reiki is back!

COVID protocols include required masking, sanitizing of tables between clients, etc...All practitioners are fully vaccinated and boosted.
Reiki is both the energy of the universe and the Japanese system of sharing this energy with others. Recipients sit in a chair or lie on a comfortable table, clothed, while the practitioner lightly places hands on or above the recipient. The effect is of peace and deep rest for the recipient. H.V. Community Reiki practitioners possess multiple certifications that can include Reiki I and II as well as Master level certifications in various styles including Usui/Tibetan, Komyo, Karuna, and Animal Reiki. |
