Second Annual Native Plant Sale Saturday, May 27 10 - noon $4 per plant. Proceeds to benefit the library. Cash or check preferred. Debit/credit available. The Gardiner Library and Wild Ones Mid-Hudson Valley are hosting a native plant sale to complement the library’s pollinator garden. The small plants, called landscape plugs, are much less expensive than container plants and an excellent way to keep costs down while trying out some new plants.

Chair Exercise Class with Anne Rogers4 week series: Mondays, June 5th through June 26th 9:30 - 10:15 AM Cost: $30 Register here. All levels welcome! This class is a whole body seated chair exercise for seniors. In this class we will workout our legs, arms, stomach and more. Everyone will be working at their own pace with a 5 minute warm up, 30 minute class and a 5 minute cool down. As we age we need to stay strong and keep moving! Less pain, more energy and more power! Open Mic with Grace Bialecki Sunday, June 11 4 - 5:30 PM Registration requested here but walk-ins welcome. Please arrive 10 minutes early to sign in. Participants will have a maximum of five minutes. All ages and levels of experience welcome. Participants may perform a work that they’ve composed or share something by another artist. Examples include a song, a poem, a short story, a dialogue, or a stand-up routine. Works should be appropriate for an all-ages audience. The goal of the open mic is to encourage artistic exploration; the host and audience will be welcoming, supportive, and consistently respectful. Unless explicitly breaking the hate speech guidelines, no one will be discouraged from performing on a specific subject or with a certain style.

Drawing with Vlad First Sundays through August 1 - 3 PM All ages welcome. Experiment with new drawing techniques with one of Gardiner's young local artists. Vlad will work along and with children to create an original work of art. This month Vlad will demonstrate the use of mixed media in drawing by combining pen, pencil, colored pencils and markers.

Guitar 1 - Small Group Guitar Classes for Kids 5-7 Yrs. Wednesdays 4:30 - 5 PM NEW JUNE SERIES $85 for 4-week series. No guitar is needed for this series! Classroom guitars are provided through a generous donation by the Neal Casal Music Foundation. Small group guitar lessons with Amy Laber (Gardiner Library’s “Miss Amy”). Beginner guitar lessons for young children with a gentle, playful approach. We will learn the parts of a guitar, and explore basic musical concepts such as beat, rhythm and pitch. Students will approach learning individual notes on the guitar and simple chords.

Four nations face off as students assume roles of Prime Ministers, Tribal Leaders, UN Officials, Arms Dealers, and more. The object is to achieve world peace and global prosperity by solving 50 interlocking economic, social, political, and environmental crises, all while under the threat of imminent war. Catharine Baldwin is an Independent Advanced Facilitator of The World Peace Game, one of 18 people fully certified to run a World Peace Game in any setting. She has an MS in education and a NYS certification. She taught for 30 years at The Hudson School.

Community Reiki: Individual Reiki SessionsMeets first Sundays 12 - 2 PM 20 minute sessions. First come, first served. COVID protocols followed. Reiki is both the energy of the universe and the Japanese system of sharing this energy with others. Recipients sit in a chair or lie on a comfortable table, clothed, while the practitioner lightly places hands on or above the recipient.
H.V. Community Reiki practitioners possess multiple certifications that can include Reiki I and II as well as Master level certifications in various styles including Usui/Tibetan, Komyo, Karuna, and Animal Reiki.
