"Pick up" passes and "print at home" passes are available.

For the Victorians, tussie-mussies were an art form that also relayed a special message in the language of flowers. In this workshop, bouquets arranged from a special selection of flowers and herbs will be made into a personalized tussie-mussie bouquet. Reading material and floral vocabulary lists will be provided.
 
Floral Artisan Elissa Rinaldo has been creating floral environments as well as teaching workshops for over 40 years. She has combined her extensive visual arts background and her horticultural education to make a career that includes her love of gardening and nature.

Community Yoga Class with Amy Laber

Connecting breath to movement, classes will include sun salutations, standing, balance, and seated postures.
 
Amy Laber is a certified yoga instructor with over 15 years of experience teaching students of all ages and ability levels. Her classes are an un-fixed intuitive flow, which tap into the specific energies and needs of each group.

Virtual Italian Conversational Class

This weekly class is designed for people who have some knowledge of the Italian language and would like to improve their conversational skills.
 
Dr. Ornella Lepri Mazzuca is a native speaker of Italian and has been facilitating the conversational class at the Gardiner Library since 2016. She graduated from the University of Urbino, Italy, with a Doctorate in English, French and Italian. She later earned an MA in Spanish and Linguistics and a PhD in Spanish Literature.

Slow Stitch Club

Any portable project qualifies: quilt, knit, crochet, felt, sew, embroider and more. Enjoy some "me time", a bit of socializing, and show and share while artfully stitching a favorite project.

Alexis has over twenty-five years of genealogy and family history experience and excels in the English language field, archival, and internet research. She is a Boston University Genealogy certificate recipient and has served on the board of the Capital District Genealogy Society.

Community Reiki
First Sundays

First come, first served.
Free 20 minute reiki sessions.

Recipients sit in a chair or lie on a comfortable table, clothed, while the practitioner lightly places hands on or above the recipient. The effect is of peace and deep rest for the recipient. HV Community Reiki has been providing Reiki sessions at the Gardiner Library since 2017.

Art Exhibits
Journey to Spring Art Exhibition by Laura Phillips
April 3 - May 29
 
“Journey to Spring” depicts the wanderings of my creative soul, finding my way toward connection to both nature and divine spirit. Representing an inner spiritual path, as well as real life’s transitions and experiences, this journey encompasses over 30 years of visual and personal emergence, culminating in a very vernal awakening. Pieces include paintings, photography, mixed media, and collage.
 
Laura has a BFA in design from The Fashion Institute of Technology, (FIT) and a Masters degree from Queens College.  After working briefly as a designer, she became an art educator at a public school where she taught art for 30 years. Laura is now grateful and excited to spend her days in her studio called “Spirit’s Nest” or outside in nature where she is always inspired.

Nataly is an Associate Professor at the SUNY New Paltz. Her area of research focuses on the intersectionality between philosophy of mathematics education, aesthetics, and deep ecology and has authored numerous books and articles Tyson has performed and shown his work in several states over the last two decades. His preference for exhibitions are outside the traditional art world, consisting of popup art displays, street performances, and improvisational creative outbursts/situations. Key themes in his work include joy, transformation of sickness into health, deterioration, disparity, alienation, rust, industry, roots, altered states of consciousness and post-rapture spiritual economy.
