Summer Herbal Series (Part 2) with Ashley Sapir Lathrop Wednesday, August 17 6:30 - 8 PM Register here. August is the perfect time to begin preparing for the seasonal transition into fall. Sashiko Stitching with Denise AumickSunday, August 21 12:30 - 2 PMAges: 12 - Adult $10 per person includes all materials needed for your Sashiko piece. Please bring scissors to cut your thread. Sashiko is a popular type of traditional Japanese embroidery. In this class you will hand stitch a Sashiko design onto a piece of cloth that can then be used to decorate a jacket, jeans, pillow, etc.
Denise has been sewing for decades and has a passion for sharing the creative and therapeutic benefits of hand stitching with others. She is also a visual artist who creates with paints, papers and other materials.

Artist Talk with Dawn Bisio - Art on the Outside Tiny Roost Exhibit Flow. Racism. No. Wednesday, August 24 6 PM A meditation of the dichotomous emotions about race and what it would look like if, instead of racial divide, we were open, accepting, and in the “flow”. An architectural representation imagined through hundreds of strands of beads. Walk around and view this piece from several different angles, imagine how it would move with a breeze, and see what comes to mind. Dawn Bisio is a Korean American painter and installation artist based in Kingston, NY. She loves abstracts, still lifes, printmaking, encaustics, and large scale installation art. Made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.

Uncover Andrea della Cava Art ShowJuly and August Learn more here. Andrea della Cava is a working artist and educator who has lived in Gardiner for the past 20 years. She holds a BA in Painting from Queens College and an MA in Arts (Painting) and Art Education from Columbia University’s Teachers College. She has dedicated her career to art education at the secondary level, with a curriculum focus of ceramics, metalsmithing and drawing. In parallel, she has pursued her own practice in the arts, encompassing ceramics, metals, painting, mixed media and object-making. Andrea artwork reflects the influences of extensive travel, cultural experiences and connections to nature.
