In late July, the Friends of Mamakating Library hosted a re-dedication of their bookstore, now named The Louis V. Lynn Friends of the Library Bookstore, in honor of a beloved member of their community who passed in January. Lou brought many smiles, not only to the staff but to the whole of Wurtsboro. Over 65 people including family and friends from all around the country were in attendance to celebrate his life and legacy. The bookstore is open whenever the library is for all to stop in and pick up as many books as you can carry -
just as Lou would have wanted.

Almost home again!
The wait is nearly over! Staff are moving back in, and the books have been returned to the shelves.  New City Library can't wait to welcome back patrons to their renovated building. The refreshed spaces include brand new large meeting rooms as well as smaller group study spaces, along with carrels and perch seating for those working on their own. There are new outdoor spaces too with seating in front and in the back of the building. New carpets, walls, ceilings and lighting fixtures, reconfigured steps and the addition of forum seating in the main area -- it's nearly unrecognizable from its former state.
The staff are raring to open the doors soon and hope to see you there!
