Wolf Lake Neighbors Support Library Congratulations to Mamakating Library on their award of a $4,000 grant received from their neighbors at Wolf Lake! The grant will enable the library to offer several new programs this summer, supporting three programmatic series developed to address the expressed interests and needs in the Mamakating community. These include a children’s book club and reading enrichment classes to help prevent the "summer slide" in literary skills; a beginning level Spanish/English storytime; and a basic technology series for adults. This generous grant helps the library achieve its literacy goals in the areas of reading, new language learning, and technology. In particular, the children's programs have been created to address the damage COVID-19 has done to the traditional educational process. Together with the adult technology series, these programs are designed to create diverse opportunities for children and adults. Funding for these programs was made possible through the efforts of The Wolf Lake Neighbors Foundation, Inc., homeowners at nearby Wolf Lake, engaged in philanthropic activities in the towns of Mamakating and Thompson.
