A Special Celebration!
 
Jean Currie, LTA President, (in the pink jacket) came to Monticello to present the Velma K. Moore award from the Library Trustee Section of NYLA to Lynn Skolnick. The Velma K. Moore Award is one that LTA presents to a volunteer person or organization who has made exemplary contributions to library services. The special event took place at the Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library on December 12th, 2023. 
 
On hand to extend their congratulations were many familiar faces including: (from left) Joanna Goldfarb, RCLS Sustainability Consultant; Martha Anderson, former RCLS Trustee and LTA Liaison for the Board; Helen Rados, RCLS Trustee; Melanie Olson, retired E.B. Crawford staffer and library trustee; Peggy McGuire, Director of Livingston Manor Free Library; and Randall Enos, retired RCLS Youth Services Consultant.

Resilient Communities in a Changing Climate: The Library as Hub
Cohort Series
In partnership with the Mid-Hudson Library System (MHLS) and Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS), Sustainable Hudson Valley has designed a program of action planning, training and support for libraries as living laboratories for climate resilience in their communities. This cohort program includes four sessions designed to facilitate participants’ understanding of climate resilience needs and opportunities at and around their locations, and the participatory approaches to working with local stakeholder partners to capture these opportunities.
Ideally, participants will attend all four sessions together.
Teams from individual libraries are encouraged to attend.
2 hours of Continuing Education credit/session.
