Another Successful Blood Drive at the New City Library
Sponsored by the New York Blood Center, a blood drive was held at the New City Library on Wednesday, September 1st. Thank you to the community’s life-saving blood donors.

The blood components entering our community blood supply as a result the Library’s efforts and the support of our donors will go on to touch the lives of as many as 121 patients in need!

Blood from volunteer donors is needed every two seconds to help meet the daily transfusion needs of cancer and surgery patients, accident and burn victims, newborns and mothers delivering babies, AIDS and sickle cell anemia patients, and so many more!

This year's blood drive featured appearances by Kate and Felix, two rescued, retired racer Greyhound Therapy Dogs, who volunteer regularly at local blood drives to help calm blood donors who may be a wee bit nervous giving blood.  Kate and Felix, along with their human parents Evelyn and Norman, are members of Hudson Valley Paws for a Cause and enjoy donating their time at these life-saving events.
