at the RCLS 64th Annual Meeting on September 8, 2023

64TH ANNUAL MEEETING
Friday, September 8, 2023 | 9AM to 1 PM
 
The morning will begin with a buffet breakfast followed by Annual Awards ceremonies and a brief business meeting
including elections to the RCLS Board of Trustees. Displays by member libraries will be on view throughout the event.
The event concludes with a Keynote Address and book signing
by award-winning author Ibi Zoboi.  Her presentation will
focus on Censorship: Book Challenges and Bans

 BANNED BOOKS TRADING CARDS
Valley Cottage Library is looking for artists to contribute original works depicting reimagined covers of banned books to create a deck of trading cards

Spread the word to your patrons
(or enter yourself and exercise your artsy side)
Deadline to apply is July 31!
  
The cards will be revealed during Banned Books Week
in October.   Each contributing artist will receive a
deck of cards and will be invited to participate
in the unveiling and Banned Books read-out
that the library will be hosting

Mamakating Library provided fun for all ages at the Founders Day Festival in Wurtsboro...
On July 8th, the Library participated in the town's celebration along Sullivan Street! 
Volunteers joined library staff to set up, talk with thousands of visitors, sell books and raffles for the Friends of the Library, and man the lawn games station.  Despite the heat, a great time was had by  all!

Peer Review: Programming and Display Policies Workshop (Online)

This session is open to library workers and trustees within as well as beyond the Ramapo Catskill Library System.  The purpose of this workshop is to strengthen policies focused on programming and display.
This session will count for 2 continuing education credit
hours for staff and trustee education.
