Honoring Indigenous Futures with Storytelling In-person event at Newburgh Free Library BOE Auditorium Thurs, Nov 17th, 2022 6:15 - 7:45 pm A program of short documentary films on water, land, and Indigenous sovereignty co-curated by the Sweetwater Cultural Center and Truth 2 Power The event will conclude with a community conversation for unity, clean water, and peace in Newburgh and beyond with Grandmother Cindy Fountain. Gain understanding of how we can honor the planet in our lives. Grandmother Cindy Fountain is a Penobscot and Lenape elder who generously shares her deep cultural knowledge, and this is a nice time to learn from an hereditary keeper of our home region.

Jane Harkinson, President of the Cornwall Public Library’s volunteer group, the Friends of the Cornwall Library, has been recognized by the state’s oldest library association for her more than 27 years of active support for the Cornwall Public Library. The Friends of Libraries Section of the New York Library Association has awarded Harkinson with the FLS Daniel W. Casey Library Advocacy Award. Warmest Congratulations Jane!

A Caring Community! The Great Give Back was a huge success... Orangeburg Library patrons are so generous. After just one week of collecting, the library got an abundance of food donations that will be delivered to the local food bank.
