You may print out the list, highlight the books you want and send it to Eileen Acosta at RCLS. Or you can fax your list to Eileen at 845-343-3739 (please circle your selections.) 
You may request as many books as you like. 
  
For an IN-PERSON experience:
Contact Eileen Acosta at 845-243-3747 ext. 221 to make an appointment to visit RCLS and view the books. [Only 2 people are allowed in the book preview at a time] The in-person book preview also includes:
  • A table with free items
  • Chocolate
  • Friendly faces of RCLS staff
  • AND an entry for a prize basket (What's in the basket? Come to RCLS and see!)

The RCLS Marketing Services LibGuide is available
for access on the RCLS website in the dropdown menu 
under “Services.”  The guide offers various resources to member
libraries to support marketing efforts & helps you create email campaigns and promotional materials along with instructional “how-to” videos.  
The page provides recommendations for marketing tools and
guidance for managing social media campaigns.
The site also promotes digital marketing ventures, marketing
plans, and analytics. Finally, the page lists upcoming events,
including training, webinars, continuing education, and
an appointment portal to schedule a meeting with
Dave Cosco, Marketing Manager, online or on the phone.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
  2022 FLS DANIEL W. CASEY LIBRARY ADVOCACY AWARD

The award honors a volunteer member or group from the library community whose efforts have contributed to the growth of libraries or Friends of the Library organizations.  In addition to a plaque, the recipient receives a one-year organizational membership in FLS for the Friends of the Library group with which the individual or group is associated.

RCLS Mandatory
Construction Aid Workshop
Friday, July 29, 2022 - 9:30 AM to 12 PM
 
This workshop is for Directors, Trustees and Library Administrative staff that will be directly involved in preparing the NYS Public Library Construction Aid application.  The workshop will provide an in-depth discussion of how to prepare a successful application.  
Session will include: the nitty-gritty details of the online application; review of what gets sent to RCLS, and other program requirements.

Celebrate Juneteenth with resources courtesy of Valley Cottage Library
 
You're invited to use the materials compiled by VCL in their 
Juneteenth History LibGuide 
to honor the holiday's federal recognition and share more information with your own community about the day's history.  The LibGuide includes historical newspaper articles from the late 1800s/early 1900s, related legal documents, videos, and reading lists.

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.  From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond. Today Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement.  (Credit: https://www.juneteenth.com/)
 
 
 
 


 
A 2021 Holiday Success Story!
 
 Western Sullivan Public Library (WSPL) completed a “Holiday Card Making Craft Station" project with the support of  funds provided by a grant from COSAG (Coordinated Outreach Services Advisory Group).  
The project, enjoyed by patrons from all three branches of WSPL, was executed in collaboration with The Kindness and Compassion Club* (KC Club) at the Sullivan West Central School District.
WSPL’s primary goal was to serve
ALL the institutionalized Nursing Home and Adult Care Center residents throughout Sullivan County.  
Ultimately, over 400 holiday cards
were created and delivered for the
2021 winter holidays.
