Kid Librarian Program - All LocationsApply Online - and you could be chosen!We are looking for Cobourg Public Library members who like to read and who would like to share their favourite books with the community, by creating a special Kid Librarian book display. Ages 6 to 12 years. Youth Services Department How To Apply: Submit an online application form: https://forms.cobourg.ca/Library/Kid-Librarian-Application. The application will ask for your name, age, contact information, when you are available to create a display, and for a list of some of the junior picture book, junior fiction book, or junior non-fiction book titles that you would like to share. National Day for Truth and Reconciliation On Monday, September 30th our country will recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day publicly commemorates the tragic and painful history of residential schools, as well as the ongoing impacts for the survivors, their families, and communities, and how they are a vital component of the reconciliation process. The Cobourg Public Library encourages our community to learn more about Canada’s history of residential schooling and the reconciliation process. Happy Birthday Stephen King! September 21st He was born in Portland, Maine in 1947. He met his future wife, Tabitha in 1971 when they were both students at the University of Maine at Orono, in the Fogler Library where they both worked. He wrote short stories and novels. His first published novel was Carrie in 1973. Below are links to his books, books inspired by his stories, and movies based on his novels and short stories in our collection.

Friendly Reminder Pre-Overdue Email Can you remember when your items are due? Would you like to save on fines, and possibly never have overdue items again? Of course you would! To sign up, simply provide a valid email address for staff to add to your membership. You will receive an email 3-days before an item is due, giving you time to renew it (if no one is waiting) or bring it back to the Library.

Period Promise - Help end period poverty We are proud to be a distribution and donation point for The Period Promise which is a collaborative effort between United Way and Thrive Northumberland to help eliminate period poverty. If you're interested in donating period products or are in need, please talk to staff or head to one of our washrooms. You can drop off your period product donations to our Cobourg Branch. Led locally by Thrive Northumberland and Northumberland United Way. Each donation will be used to provide access to period products throughout Northumberland.
