Period Promise Help end period poverty. Not having the product you need when you need it can make staying connected to the community difficult. You can drop off your period product donations at our Curbside Window in support of The Period Promise movement, led locally by Thrive Northumberland and Northumberland United Way. Each donation will be used to provide access to period products throughout our area.

Library Love . . . "Just wanted to say thank you for the selection of books we borrowed last week! Henry Wants More and Chicken Cheeks were big hits." "Cobourg Public Library always upping the bar!" "I just wanted to say thanks for being there during this last 15 months!" "My kids have been building a lot of forts lately, and we've been doing lots of library pickups! The kids help me choose their books online, pick up their books at the pick up window (by themselves) and return their books to the drop box. Today my son came running upstairs to tell me about their latest fort. They built this fort library modeled after the Cobourg library. I love how much these kids love reading ... and fort building!"

Behind the Mask - Meet our Staff!Job Title: Community Engagement Assistant How would you describe your job in one sentence: Building our presence in the community, planning, having fun with volunteers & patrons (even though it’s been virtual for the past 15 months), creating content, and more! How long have you worked @CobourgPL? A little over 3 years What was your previous career? My background is in the legal field. I managed a law office and was a law clerk for nearly 10 years in Toronto, before returning back home to Cobourg. What is your favourite part of your work? Getting the chance to be creative while working with a supportive and innovative team. What is your favourite Library memory? When we had Primrose the Donkey visit our Boomers and Beyond session! What surprised you about working in Libraries, or specifically @CobourgPL? How many patrons don’t realize that we offer items to loan other than books. I love seeing their faces when we tell them we loan telescopes, Ontario Park passes, Binge Bundles, and Discovery Backpacks. What is the most rewarding part of working @CobourgPL? Having the opportunity to make an impact on my community.
