Windows 11 is coming! Our public computers will soon be replaced - and they come with Windows 11. There will be a learning curve, but the machines will allow for faster access for everyone. Staff will be available to assist anyone who has questions on the new system.

Eye2Eye International Film Festival Book Cover Contest Saturday, April 1st to Sunday, April 30th Open to ages 2 to 12 years.Visit the Cobourg Public Library to pick up an entry page. Design a new book cover for Annie, and return your completed entry to the library before April 30th at 5:00 p.m. The selected winner will have their book cover printed inside the Eye2Eye International Film Festival program, as well as receive two adult tickets to see Annie at the Film Festival on Saturday, June 3rd at 9:30 a.m. (Kids are free to attend). Winner will be announced on Saturday, May 13th.

CRA Tax Benefit Chat - Cobourg Wednesday, April 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will be at the Cobourg Library to answer your general tax benefit questions from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., then from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., they will be in the Rotary Room for a two-part presentation: Part 1: Adults 65+ tax info and Part 2: Disability Tax Credit and Medical Expenses. No registration is required.

CobourgPL Seed Library Borrow, Grow & Share! Our Seed Library started in 2016, and it keeps on growing! This year we have over 250 varieties of seeds in over 4,000 packages available to be borrowed, grown and enjoyed by you! There are Herbs, Flowers, Fruit and Vegetables seeds. From Basil to Thyme; From Arugula to Zucchini. You can check out your seeds at any one of our three branches - and we will even have seeds to borrow at Harwood too! Many thanks to all the volunteers who packaged and labelled seeds this year, and to all those who donated seeds as well. We couldn't have done it with you!

Lightning Facts & Myths Fact or Fiction? 1. If is is not raining, there is no danger from lightning. 2. The rubber soles of shoes or rubber tires on a car will protect you from being struck by lightning. 3. People struck by lightning carry an electrical charge and should not be touched. 4. "Heat-lightning" occurs after hot summer days and poses no threat. 5. A tree is a safe place to hide under in a downpour during a thunderstorm. Period Promise - Help end period poverty We are proud to be a distribution and donation point for The Period Promise which is a collaborative effort between United Way and Thrive Northumberland to help eliminate period poverty. If you're interested in donating period products or are in need, please talk to staff or head to one of our washrooms. You can drop off your period product donations to our Cobourg Branch. Led locally by Thrive Northumberland and Northumberland United Way. Each donation will be used to provide access to period products throughout Northumberland.
